Somerset

Ok, this is a long entry as I have a few days to catch up on

On Friday night Davina, Carl, Jenny (Davina's sister) and myself travelled out to see Davina's Dad (Dave) in somerset. Firstly, let me say how beautiful this place is!!
As per the normal we had way to much wine on the first night, and spent the first day with a hangover until Dave (Davina's dad) cooked us a fantastic breaky!

We firstly visited the below Tower, it was built so that the english could see for miles and protect their land from the Danish, it was built in 879 in bruton.

Check out the width of the roads on somerset, this is a 2 way road!!
Below is the tower in the distance

We then visited Wells, what an amazing place! Wells has this amazing cathedral, and because it has a cathedral it is classed as a city, because its classed as a city, its the smallest city in England.

One thing I will say is that the history in England is Amazing, checkout the below Palace

This was the bishops Palace

We also tried some of the local cider!! It tastes like apple cider, except its alcoholic. YUM!!

The next day me, Davina and Jenny went to bath. This place is incredible, and is somewhere i would love to live. We tried on Bridemaids dresses for Davina's up and coming wedding, walked around the town, and of course had a beer!

In the afternoon we went to where Davina and Carl will be married, Im not going to put photo's up on the place, but let me just say.. WOW

On the way back to London we stopped at Stone Henge

I am absolutely blown away by somerset, it is such an amazing, beautiful place. The next few days will be quiet, and then I am joining the Europe tour on Thursday. Next update then! BYE!!

Thought for the day

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.

~St. Augustine

Hey if you're going to give me posting rights... I'm going to post. OK?

London - A strange place

Ok, a few strange things about London
1. Why does everyone say "you alright then" instead of hello, I am constantly saying "yes, why?"

2. Everyone uses a sink size bucket in their sink to wash their dishes, and then they just poor it down the sink anyway. Why not just fill up the sink? They have invented a plug over here!

3. If you see a carpark on the opposite side of the road, in Melbourne you would do a U turn and park in it. Here they just drive accross the opposite side the road and park facing the wrong way!
(See below)

4. It got to a top of 16 degrees today, people were sunbaking!! and even worse, wearing singlet tops! what is wrong with these people??

Enough of the odd things, I could go on all day.

The last few days I have been getting lost in the tube and around London, however I always manage to get home in time for dinner! I will continue this for the next few days (getting lost that is!) and then I am travelling down to Davina's Dad's place in Somerset this weekend.

Oh, and I also booked 5 pound flights to Ireland!! How cheap is that!?

Missing work, My team, Stu and my friends and family hope everyone is doing well xoxoxox

Opps

So today Me and Davina left Carl at home and set out into London on our own... Let me just say that this is never good, we always need adult supervison - and again we proved this.
The day started out very adult like, we went to a flower market which was amazing!
It was soon lunch time, so we decided to pop into a pub for a counter meal beside the Thames river, this is where it all started to go down hill. I ordered a typical Pommy lunch, a Toad in the hole !! This is what it looked like!

We then decided to celebrate the fact the I was in london with a bottle of fizzy plonk
Well, 3 bottles of Fizzzy Plonk later.....

Let me just say this.. The afternoon was a blur and I now have a headache!!
p.s A big thanks to Carl who picked up 2 very drunk ladies fom the station and brought them home!

Flights and London

Well, I made it!

The flight was far from fun, I got lost in Hong Kong Airport, and there was a typhoon storm which made for a bumpy sleepless ride from Hong kong to London. Never the less, I made it :)

Davina picked me up this morning from the Heathrow at 5:45am, we went and grabbed breakfast (Even though I was craving a steak!!) and then went walking through London. I keep having to pinch myself - Cant believe Im in London!!!

Today I saw West Minster Abbey - This blew me away, its so much bigger than i thought i was, oh, and something that i didnt realise is that its also full of important dead people!! So I saw the graves of King henry the 7th, Queen Elizabeth the 1st and many more. They are saving me a spot there to!

I also saw the Royal Palace, Big Ben, Leiester square, Convent Gardens and the london Eye. The weather was a bit crap so we didnt go on the London Eye, but I plan to.

I had my first beer in a london pub, yes it was warm, but actually not to bad.

Did i mention its bloody freezing here?? I think I will be saying that alot!

Enough Talk.. Here's some photos

After all that a well earned beer!
